Tofo beach is full of soft and gentle sand, there you can remember how to fall and laugh about not being in control of what is happening all the time. Stand back up and try again. Nearby are also Tofinho Poin and several other locations which are challenging even for the more experienced surfer.
Location: The training will be held in Praya Tofo, which is a small sleepy village in Southern Mozambique in the province of Inhabane. Everywhere you go in Tofo there is only beach sand. There is one shop in the village, a traditional marketplace and a few quality restaurants, all you need! It is the perfect place to focus on what's relevant, being and lightness. If you have never been to Africa, this is an easy place to visit first. You don't have to worry about jet lag, since there is none (when traveling from Finland).
The main attraction of this beautiful place is definitely the beaches, the ocean and the guaranteed sunshine.
The retreat center is located directly on the beach and you can easily go surfing, snorkeling, diving or just have a walk on the endless beach. Other activities are also available for those who are interested such as horseback riding and cultural tours.
During the training it is possible to spot humpback whales, whale sharks, turtles, stingrays and dolphins. All in their natural habitat and straight in front of you.
The retreat center is owned by Finnish Liquiddiveadventures and the center's own restaurant Happi will provide tasty food throughout the retreat. It is the only vegetarian restaurant in the area. Happi uses as much local ingredients as possible and is passionate about sustainability and the wellbeing of the surrounding ecosystem, including the ocean.
How to get there? You arrive in Mozambique via the capital Maputo. There are many flight options, for example via Doha or Johannesburg. The nearest airport to Tofo is Inhabane Airport. The airline operating between Maputo and Inhabane is called LAM. The drive from Inhabane to Tofo is around 30 minutes. You can also take the bus from Maputo to Tofo, which costs around 10$ and takes 10 hours.Included in price:- Accommodation in two person rooms- Daily breakfast and lunch- Instructed yoga and meditation practices daily plus workshops- A unique half-day surprise adventureFlights not included!
Teachers: Teemu Eguavoen Teemu is an osteopath and the founder of Body Mechanics Helsinki. Teme works with human bodies daily by using his vast knowledge on anatomy and body therapy. Teme also teaches anatomy courses to yoga teachers as well as Ashtanga yoga, which he has been practicing since 2009. Teme's own practice is based on Ashtanga, Hatha and Kriya yoga. Asana practice was an important part of his life for a long time but nowadays his practice is more internal and built on pranayama. On the retreat, teme is responsible for energizing and meditation practice as well as anatomy and breath workshops. Connect with your breath, reach inner peace, stop and find strength for new adventures.
