About the event
REST AND DIGEST - Yin yoga and the wisdom of somatic experiencing
This training includes:
° Deeper study of most common Yin postures
(why do we wanna do them, what is the information that the form provides, etc)
° How to build a Yin practice (what asanas to choose and why)
° The usage of props and adjustments (for those who want them)
° Somatic lecture and restorative practice with some breathwork.
This training will give you a clear idea of what it is to really experience the power of your nervous system and how to cultivate that information in your yoga practice and in your everyday life as well as integrate the insights into your teachings.
You will get tools and techniques as well as deepen your understanding of the body-mind-breath connection.
1. Understanding your nervous system Fight + Flight / Freeze / Rest + Digest (polyvagal theory):
What is the nervous system? And how is it showing up in your behavior/posture?
2. How to access restorative sleep Completing stress cycles:
Flowing between the ON and OFF modes of the nervous system.
3. What does rest feel like and how to stay connected with it Leaning into the back of you – “Your body has your back:”
Experiencing how the backline of the body strengthens a felt sense of rest + digest.

ABOUT THE TEACHERS:
Riikka is an internationally certified holistic practitioner (IPHM) working in the field of nervous system coaching to trauma healing.
At the beginning of her professional career, Riikka worked as a certified personal trainer, lifestyle coach and fitness facility manager in corporate settings. Riikka’s passion to understand the MINDBODY continued to grow, as did her experience and development into the fields of Pilates, pelvic health and birth recovery.
Riikka’s gift for understanding the body was first sparked by her own experience with chronic pain. She suffered from postpartum complications and the health field she worked in did not provide her effective solutions. It was during this time she began to specialize in trauma recovery, attachment repair and Somatic Experiencing, and transitioned to the studio setting where she found fulfilment working with clients one-on-one.
Elisa has been breathing, living and teaching yoga since 2012. This beautiful practice has taken her around the world and given her endless amount of lenses to look through when studying the mind, the body and the breath. Elisa's main approach is the story behind the explicit part. How the body holds on to every single thing that we have lived through and how it truly is the map of personality. In her teachings she wants to point out what are all the things that happens in our system when we practice and how we can use the practice to our advantage. Her own bipolar nature and the need to understand the whole of being has created an endless thirst for knowledge and keeps her studying different aspects of human life.
